The Colorado Trust understands the importance of your privacy on the Internet. That is why we believe it is important to let you know how we use the information collected through the Site. The following is our policy regarding Internet privacy and usage.

The website, (the “Site”), owned by The Colorado Trust and operated by The Colorado Trust, its licensees and collaborators, provides information and news in the field of health coverage and the health care system, and allows visitors to post questions, comments and vote on health coverage and health care system issues, (the “Services”), as part of the Project Health Colorado Campaign.


By using the Site, you, (“User” or “you”), agree to our Privacy Policy as stated herein and to changes in the Privacy Policy posted on the Site. By providing any personal information to this site, you acknowledge that you fully understand and consent to the collection, use and processing of such information. We reserve the right at our discretion to modify this Privacy Policy at any time. Your continued use of this Site following the posting of changes to these terms means you accept these changes.


This Site is not directed to or intended for children under the age of 13. The Colorado Trust does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13.


The Colorado Trust does not collect personally identifiable information on the Site unless the User voluntarily provides the information. We do not collect personal information, such as your name, address, phone number, or email address, while you browse. We do, however, gather non-personally identifiable information in aggregate on how the Site is used, such as the number of visitors to the Site, length of each visit, and which pages are most commonly used to enter and exit the Site. 

There are now, and will be, sections on the Site that are provided for the benefit of the public. Users may request consumer educational information or other services in these sections and may post or submit comments and suggestions. In such instance, The Colorado Trust may request limited personally identifiable information, (e.g. email address), as explained below, in order to process your request or submissions. Personally identifiable information will also be collected if you chose to register as a member of the Site. The personally identifiable information that may be collected includes your IP address, user name, password, first and last name, email address or mailing address. The Colorado Trust’s use of that information will be limited to the purpose of providing the requested information, processing submissions and membership privileges. Personally identifiable information may be provided to third parties by The Colorado Trust for the purpose of processing User requests and submissions, or to otherwise provide Services to you. 

The Colorado Trust does not sell or rent any personal information collected on the Site without your consent, although The Colorado Trust may share your email address with its partner organizations with your consent. Additionally, in the event that all or substantially all of the assets relating to The Colorado Trust are transferred or sold to another entity, personally identifiable information submitted to us may be transferred to the acquiring entity. Finally, we may also disclose personally identifiable information to third parties in order to comply with law or requests by law enforcement agencies, to enforce our Terms of Service or to protect the rights, property or safety of our website, Users of our website and others.


A “cookie” is a small line of text or information file that your web browser stores on the hard drive of your computer when you visit a website. Cookies themselves do not contain any personally identifiable information. Cookies allow websites to "remember" Users’ activities on a website as well as Users visits to a site. The Colorado Trust may use cookies may to determine the number of unique visitors to the Site over a given period and to remember User screen names so that the need for multiple log-ins is eliminated. The Colorado Trust does not store any personal information that Users submit when accessing or making submissions to the Site. You can, of course, disable cookies on your computer by indicating this in the preferences or options menus in your browser.


The Colorado Trust strives to protect User’s personal information. However, The Colorado Trust does not warrant the security of any information. The Colorado Trust will use reasonable efforts to ensure that information provided by Users is secure. Users that voluntarily disclose information on a bulletin board, blog or the like should be aware that such information may be collected and used by others unrelated to The Colorado Trust.


If we decide to change our Privacy Policy, we will post those changes to this Privacy Policy on our home page and other places we deem appropriate so our Users may be aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we disclose it. We will use information in accordance with the Privacy Policy under which the information was collected.
